Charge up your Balance with a credit card.
You can pick how much money to put in your account balance, based on how much you use Twilio. If you have lots of phone numbers, or receive lots of calls, then you'd want to put more money in your account.
Twilio decrements your account for usage.
When calls occur, we decrement the cost of the call from your account balance. If you purchase a phone number, the monthly fee is also deducted from your balance.
You can always check your account balance on your
account page.
Twilio notifies you when the balance gets low.
You'll receive an email letting you know when your account balance is running low, so you can come back and recharge it. By default, you'll get notified when your balance is below $10.
Twilio suspends service if your balance falls below $0.
If your account is suspended, Twilio will stop making and answering calls to or from your phone numbers. Additionally your numbers will no longer be able to send and receive SMS messages . We do not automatically release your numbers from your account, and they will continue to be charged while your account is suspended. Add money to your balance to re-enable your account. If you don't re-enable your account after 2 weeks, we'll assume you're closing your account.
