# 17533: Recording not eligible for transcription

## Description

Twilio failed to create a new transcription because the referenced recording cannot be transcribed.

### Possible causes

* The recording is not in `completed` status.
* The recording uses encryption.
* The recording uses external storage.

### Possible solutions

* Ensure the recording has completed processing.
* Use `mediaUrl` for encrypted or externally-stored recordings.
