# 30542: Political messaging must use the Political use case category

Log Type: APPLICATION

Log Level: ERROR

## Description

This error applies to both Toll-Free Verification and A2P 10DLC registration.

Political campaigns and 527 tax-exempt political organizations must select the dedicated Political use case category. Generic categories such as Marketing or Customer Care are not allowed for political messaging.

### Possible causes

* A registered political PAC submitted under the generic Customer Care use case category.
* A candidate's election committee submitted vote-related message samples but classified the use case as Marketing.

### Possible solutions

* Change the submission's use case category to Political.
* Ensure the message samples and description align with the Political category and include a valid Campaign Verify Token, then resubmit.
