# 30551: Consent does not specify SMS or text messaging

Log Type: APPLICATION

Log Level: ERROR

## Description

This error applies to both Toll-Free Verification and A2P 10DLC registration.

Consent disclosures must clearly state that messages are delivered by SMS or text messaging. Vague or generic terms such as "communications" without naming the text messaging channel are not compliant.

### Possible causes

* The disclosure uses generic phrasing such as "you agree to receive communications" without identifying SMS or text messaging as the delivery channel.

### Possible solutions

* Update the disclosure to explicitly include the terms "SMS" or "text messages", for example "By checking this box, you agree to receive SMS notifications...".
* Resubmit with the updated disclosure text.
