# 30864: Verification rejection - Disallowed: Gambling

Log Type: APPLICATION

Log Level: ERROR

## Description

Twilio rejected your verification request because the submitted business or messaging program was identified as a gambling use case. Gambling-related traffic is prohibited for SMS and MMS in the United States and Canada.

### Possible causes

* Your submission described a gambling business or a gambling-related messaging program. ([help.twilio.com](https://help.twilio.com/articles/360045004974-Forbidden-message-categories-for-SMS-and-MMS-in-the-US-and-Canada))
* Your website, brand, or sample messages referenced a forbidden gambling category such as casino apps, gambling websites, sweepstakes, 50/50 raffles, or betting and sports picks. ### Possible solutions

* Do not submit or resubmit this phone number for SMS or MMS in the United States or Canada if your actual business or use case is gambling-related. Gambling traffic is prohibited on Short Code and Long Code routes in the United States and Canada. Rejections for content or Messaging Policy violations can't be resubmitted. ([help.twilio.com](https://help.twilio.com/articles/360045004974-Forbidden-message-categories-for-SMS-and-MMS-in-the-US-and-Canada))
* If the rejection was incorrect, contact Support and provide additional information that clearly explains your business and messaging use case.
* Review your business description, website content, sample messages, opt-in flow, and policy links to make sure they accurately represent a compliant non-gambling use case before you submit a new verification request for an eligible program. This is an inference based on the information Twilio reviews during verification and the verification onboarding flow.
* If you need to reach recipients for a use case that can't be approved for SMS or MMS, use a different channel only when the use case and channel meet the applicable policy requirements. For some forbidden SMS use cases, SendGrid Email API or Programmable Voice may be options.
