# 30867: Verification rejection - Disallowed: Cryptocurrency

Log Type: APPLICATION

Log Level: ERROR

## Description

Your verification submission was rejected because the business or messaging program in the submission appears to fall into a forbidden message category for U.S. and Canada SMS and MMS traffic. Twilio reviews the business, use case, sample messages, web presence, opt-in flow, and linked terms and privacy policy during verification.

### Possible causes

* The verification submission identified the business as being associated with cryptocurrency or another high-risk financial services use case.
* The business website, use case description, sample messages, or opt-in details suggested that the phone number would be used for cryptocurrency-related messaging.
* The submission didn't clearly show that the messaging program fits an allowed business use case.
* The business primarily operates in a forbidden category for SMS and MMS messaging in the United States and Canada.

### Possible solutions

* Review the submission details and confirm whether the business or messaging program falls into a forbidden message category. If it does, do not use this phone number for that SMS or MMS use case.
* If the rejection is incorrect, contact Twilio Support with additional information that clearly explains your business, messaging use case, recipient opt-in flow, and sample messages.
* Update the business website, use case summary, opt-in description, and linked terms or privacy policy so they accurately reflect the messaging program you want to verify.
* If your business has multiple lines of business, make sure the submission clearly describes the allowed messaging use case instead of emphasizing cryptocurrency-related activity.
* Check the verification status in Console or through the verification API before making changes so you can determine whether the submission is eligible for correction and resubmission.
