# 30873: Verification rejection - Disallowed: SHAFT - Sex

Log Type: APPLICATION

Log Level: ERROR

## Description

We rejected this verification request because the submission was associated with the SHAFT sex category. Sex-related use cases are forbidden for SMS and MMS in the United States and Canada.

### Possible causes

* The business, campaign, or messaging use case described in the verification request is sex-related.
* The website, opt-in flow, or production message samples in the submission contain adult or sexual content, or make the use case appear to be sex-related.
* The verification request doesn't meet verification requirements because the stated use case conflicts with forbidden message category rules for SMS and MMS in the United States and Canada.

### Possible solutions

* If your business or messaging program is sex-related, do not use this phone number for SMS or MMS traffic to the United States or Canada. This use case can't be approved for verification.
* If the rejection is incorrect, contact Twilio Support and provide additional information that clearly explains your business, opt-in method, website, and representative message samples.
* Review the submitted use case summary, website, and message samples before making changes. Make sure they accurately describe your business and don't contain content that could be interpreted as a forbidden sex-related use case.
* If you still need to reach recipients for a use case that can't be approved for SMS or MMS, evaluate another channel such as SendGrid Email API or Programmable Voice if it fits your compliance requirements.
