# 30878: Verification rejection - Disallowed: SHAFT - Tobacco / Vape

Log Type: APPLICATION

Log Level: ERROR

## Description

Twilio rejected your verification request because the submission indicates a forbidden SHAFT use case involving tobacco, vape, or e-cigarettes. Twilio doesn't support these categories on SMS or MMS.

### Possible causes

* Your business description or stated use case indicates tobacco, vape, or e-cigarette messaging.
* Your website, sample messages, opt-in details, or other verification data caused the request to be categorized as a forbidden SHAFT use case.
* Your use case relies on age gating, but tobacco, vape, and e-cigarette traffic is not allowed on messaging regardless of age gating.

### Possible solutions

* Remove tobacco, vape, and e-cigarette traffic from the messaging use case. These categories aren't supported on messaging.
* If the rejection is incorrect, contact Support and provide additional information that clearly explains your business and messaging use case.
* Check the verification record in the API or Console. If `edit_allowed` is `true`, update the request and resubmit it before `edit_expiration`. If the rejection is for content or Messaging Policy violations, the request isn't eligible for resubmission.
