# Numbers and Senders Overview

Numbers and Senders lets you set up, configure, and manage your Messaging and Voice senders across channels. You can view your sender inventory, manage configurations, and check whether each sender is ready to send traffic based on its compliance and registration status. To create and manage the required compliance profiles, see [Trust Hub](/docs/trust-hub).

> \[!TIP]
>
> Numbers and Senders combines the previously separate processes for managing different number and sender types into a single interface for greater control and efficiency.

> For step-by-step instructions on how to set up and manage numbers and senders in the **legacy Console**, see the documentation for each sender type:

## Getting started

Sign in to the **[Twilio Console](https://1console.twilio.com)** and navigate to **Products & Services > Numbers & senders**. From there, you can request, set up and manage phone numbers, WhatsApp senders, alphanumeric sender IDs, RCS senders, and short codes.

### Sender inventory

The sender inventory gives you an overview of your sender inventory and whether they are ready to start sending traffic. Use the **My Inventory** tab for each sender type to view and filter by capabilities. Each sender type has its own inventory view and filter set.

### Registrations and requests

The **Registrations** tabs let you view and filter:

* Regulatory compliance registrations for alphanumeric sender IDs and short codes.
* Regulatory compliance registrations for phone numbers in countries where pre-purchase regulatory approval is required.

[Registrations](/docs/trust-hub/registrations) contain the information needed for carrier or regulatory review and display the current provisioning status for each sender.

For sender-specific requirements, see:

* [Phone numbers](/docs/numbers-and-senders/phone-number-senders)
* [Alphanumeric sender IDs](/docs/numbers-and-senders/alphanumeric-senders#regulatory-compliance-registration-by-country)
* [Short codes](/docs/numbers-and-senders/short-codes#regulatory-compliance-registration-by-country)

### Sender status

Sender status indicates whether a number or sender is ready to send or receive traffic and vary by sender type. Common statuses include:

* **Active/ Enabled**: Ready to send or receive traffic.
* **Inactive/ Disabled**: Not yet ready or awaiting configuration.

## Supported sender types

You can set up [Phone numbers](/docs/numbers-and-senders/phone-number-senders), [Short codes (beta) and (legacy)](/docs/numbers-and-senders/short-codes), [Alphanumeric sender IDs](/docs/numbers-and-senders/alphanumeric-senders), [RCS senders](/docs/numbers-and-senders/rcs-senders), and [WhatsApp senders](/docs/whatsapp#get-started-with-whatsapp) directly in the **Numbers and Senders** page. For details on using Facebook Messenger as a sender, see the [Facebook Messenger](/docs/messaging/channels/facebook-messenger) docummentation.
