Build SMS Marketing Notifications

With the amount of noise in social media and e-mail inboxes, it's hard to make a meaningful connection with your customers or audience. SMS text messages, however, are a personal communication channel with an open rate above 95%, which make them a great choice for social communication.

In this tutorial, you will learn how to enable your users to opt-in for an SMS marketing campaign using their mobile phone.

Here's how it all works at a high level:

  1. A possible customer sends an SMS to a Twilio phone number you advertise somewhere.
  2. Your application confirms that the user wants to receive SMS notifications from your company.
  3. An administrator or marketing campaign manager uses a web form to craft a message that will go out to all subscribers via text message.
