Restoring a previously released phone number

When you release a number, that number goes into a “recycling state” and it will not be available for purchase by any other Twilio users for up to 60 days.

Using Console, you can repurchase numbers that you previously released as long as they are still in the recycling state. On Console‘s Released Numbers page, you can see all numbers that were previously released within the past 60 days in your account. Simply click on the Repurchase Number button to provision the number back to your account.

Note that the action is considered to be repurchasing the phone number, so you’ll be charged for the monthly fee upon performing the action. In addition, the restored phone number will be given a new Sid. Make sure you update the record in your application before accessing the phone number resource.
