Twilio Expands in Europe With Lower Prices, Additional Coverage, and New Capabilities

Twilio, the software and cloud-based communications platform company, today announced that it is reducing prices in countries across Europe, including UK, Germany, France, Spain and Italy. Rapid growth in Twilio's European traffic—which climbed by over 300% in 2013—has enabled Twilio to achieve higher economies of scale and lower pricing for calls between 13 - 76% based on the phone number type or region. Also announced today, Ireland joins 11 other European countries with available SMS-enabled numbers, launched in beta. In addition, as a US-EU Safe Harbor compliant platform, European users can trust that Twilio adheres to the most stringent confidentiality and privacy regulations.

With Mobile Phone Numbers for SMS in Ireland, Twilio customers can now build messaging based use cases that require 2-way SMS capabilities e.g. conversations, to improve local user experience and engagement with customers in this new country. Poll Everywhere is an application that allows live audiences to interact with an event through SMS, Twitter and the mobile web in real time. Poll Everywhere has been in the private beta for Irish mobile numbers.
