Demo submission
What makes a great submission demo for Twilio AI Startup Searchlight
Your demo is the thing judges will actually remember. It’s how you leave a lasting impression, prove the product is real and not a deck or a roadmap.
This short video is a practical guide for founders and CTOs on how to record a submission demo that’s easy to judge. The goal is simple: show one end-to-end workflow where you demonstrate the practical use of emerging technologies (voice, identity, generative AI, conversational AI, LLM-powered agents, and more) built on and integrated with the Twilio Platform (e.g., Voice, Email, Messaging, Authentication, Customer Data, Conversational AI, and more).
The aim: make the AI decision moment obvious, make the Twilio platform’s role in the experience unmistakable, and map it back to the judging criteria.
In the next few minutes, we will showcase how to build & submit a demo that clearly shows the power of AI + Twilio working together and what you can do to what actually increases your odds of your submission making it as one of the top finalists.
Demo Video
In this 5-minute video above, you will learn:
- How to submit an excellent demo for Twilio AI Startup Searchlight that focuses on one or two scenarios with a clear before-and-after;
- A simple demo framework: one story → one persona → one outcome (skip the endless feature tour; one or two of your best features will suffice);
- How to make the AI decision moment clear and obvious (not just the generic “we use AI”);
- Guidance on how to show AI + the Twilio platform working together (e.g., real Messaging/Voice interactions, not screenshots or future integration plans);
- A lightweight architecture diagram to explain your product/ solution with one clear slide;
- How to communicate your impact and your path to production, or demonstrate production readiness if your solution is already integrated;
- A submission checklist (timing, audio, screen readability) plus common pitfalls to avoid.
Use this video guide as a blueprint to plan, record, and refine your submission so judges can quickly see what’s unique, what’s real, and why your product stands out. Watch the video, use the checklist, and record your demo in the simplest way possible: screen share, clear audio, and a readable UI.
Feeling inspired? We believe in what you’re creating. Let’s build something amazing together.
