21737: Brand Registration Failure: 2FA Verification Expired

Twilio Messaging DocumentationMessaging

Description

description page anchor

This error occurs when the Authentication+ two-factor verification link or token for an A2P 10DLC Brand expires before the brand contact completes verification. To continue brand registration or re-verification, submit a new 2FA request and complete the verification within the active time window.

Possible causes

possible-causes page anchor
  • The brand contact did not use the Authentication+ verification link or token before it expired.
  • The brand registration requires a brand business contact email and the 2FA step was not completed within the verification window.
  • A new or existing public brand reached the Authentication+ step, but the contact did not finish verification before the deadline in the email.
  • Submit a new 2FA request in Console or by sending a POST request to the Brand 2FA Verification resource.
  • Ask the brand contact to complete the verification as soon as the new email arrives and before the deadline shown in that email.
  • If the failed registration is for a new brand, update brand_contact_email in the associated us_a2p_messaging_profile_information bundle if needed, then trigger Authentication+ again using the 2FA endpoint.
  • If the contact did not receive the email, resend the Authentication+ email from Console and confirm the address is correct and associated with your business. Do not use a consumer email domain such as gmail.com.
