25016: Updating the organization owner is not allowed
ERROR
You cannot update the Organization Owner through a standard update request. Twilio treats the Organization Owner as a dedicated organization role, and there can be only one organization owner at a time. To transfer ownership, use the Change organization owner flow in Console instead of trying to modify the owner as part of a general update.
- Your request is attempting to modify the organization owner as part of a normal update operation.
- You're trying to transfer ownership outside the supported Change organization owner flow in Twilio Console.
- The user you want to make the new owner is not already listed as a user in the organization. Twilio requires you to add the user to the organization before you can transfer ownership.
- The change is being attempted by someone other than the current Organization Owner. Only the current Organization Owner can complete this update.
- Remove the organization owner change from your standard update request and retry only the supported organization updates.
- In Twilio Console, go to Admin, open the Organization overview page, and use Change organization owner to transfer ownership.
- Add the new owner to the organization before retrying the ownership transfer.
- Sign in as the current Organization Owner before you attempt the change.
- If you still cannot complete the ownership transfer, contact Twilio Support and include the account details and the new owner's email address.
