Twilio rejected your Toll-Free Verification request because the submission indicates a forbidden SHAFT use case involving tobacco, vape, or e-cigarettes. Toll-Free messaging does not support these categories. As of January 31, 2024, unverified Toll-Free numbers are blocked from sending messages to the United States and Canada until verification is approved.
- Your business description or stated use case indicates tobacco, vape, or e-cigarette messaging.
- Your website, sample messages, opt-in details, or other verification data caused the request to be categorized as a forbidden SHAFT use case.
- Your use case relies on age gating, but tobacco, vape, and e-cigarette traffic is not allowed on Toll-Free messaging regardless of age gating.
- Remove tobacco, vape, and e-cigarette traffic from the Toll-Free messaging use case. These categories are not supported on Toll-Free messaging.
- If the rejection is incorrect, contact Support and provide additional information that clearly explains your business and messaging use case.
- Check the verification record in the API or Console. If
edit_allowedistrue, update the request and resubmit it beforeedit_expiration. If the rejection is for content or Messaging Policy violations, the request is not eligible for resubmission.
