60233: Default sender id can't be deleted

Twilio Verify DocumentationVerify

Description

description page anchor

You tried to delete a Sender ID that is currently set as the default Sender ID. Twilio does not delete that Sender ID until you update the default assignment.

Possible causes

possible-causes page anchor
  • The Sender ID in your delete request is the default Sender ID for the destination you configured.
  • Your Verify configuration still points to that Sender ID as the default sender.
  • The Sender ID was previously set as the default in Console, so deleting it without changing the default first is blocked.
  • Set a different registered Sender ID as the default for that destination. Then retry the delete request.
  • Review your Sender ID configuration in Console and confirm which sender is marked as the default before you delete it.
  • If you do not want to use a default Sender ID for that destination, remove the default Sender ID assignment first. Then delete the Sender ID you no longer need.
  • Make sure the replacement Sender ID is already registered and available for the same destination before you switch the default.
