Don’t worry though! Until comparable experiences are available through KORE, you will continue to use the Twilio Console and APIs to order SIM hardware and manage your devices and connectivity just like before. Additionally, we plan to continue to release new features, accessible through Twilio, while we transition our team and infrastructure to KORE.
As we get closer to enabling you to manage your Super SIMs, Programmable Wireless SIMs, Microvisor devices, Programmable Asset Trackers, and more through KORE’s Console and APIs, we’ll send out announcements so you can begin planning any changes you need to make.
We’re excited to see what we can all build together.
If you have any questions, please contact your IoT sales specialist, Twilio account representative, or contact customer support.
The first thing we need users of our IoT solutions to do is create a KORE account and link it to their Twilio account. Except for a very small number of IoT users, your IoT usage is no longer being charged to your Twilio account balance. Instead, usage of IoT products will be charged to your KORE account, which we’ll help you set up by following this step-by-step guide.
And if you don’t have a Twilio account yet, you can sign up for one for free.
You do not need to upgrade your Twilio account to be able to use IoT products. But remember, you must keep your Twilio account active and in good standing to be able to access the Twilio Console and APIs you’ll need to manage your IoT products. All IoT usage will be billed to your KORE account regardless of your Twilio account status.
Any contractual discounts you have on IoT products will continue to apply. How you are billed for using any other Twilio products does not change.
Additionally, you can learn more about how pricing and billing works for Super SIM here.
While the members of the IoT business unit and the related services transition over to KORE, some IoT product functionality has been limited for users that do not have a contract for services in place or are actively engaging with our sales team. If you find your experience with our IoT products too restricted and you need to be able to order more SIMs or use the limited features to their fullest, you can talk to sales and the limits can be lifted.
