Self-Service Limitations

While Twilio IoT's business unit and solutions transfer over to KORE, we have made some temporary changes to some of our products for users who either do not have a contract for services or are not actively discussing a contract with our IoT sales team.

Info

If you find any of the limitations below too restrictive, please contact our sales team(link takes you to an external page) who will be happy to discuss your use case, volumes, and lifting the limitations for you. You can still order SIM hardware and get started with our products by simply signing up with a credit card. Then, engage with our sales team whenever you're ready.

SIM hardware, such as SIM cards, can be purchased from the Twilio Console by visiting the IoT Order(link takes you to an external page) page.

You will be able to:

  • Order up to 10 multi-size SIM cards per 30 days.
  • Order 1 pack of 10 embedded (MFF2) SIMs per 30 days.

Speak to sales if you need to:

  • Order larger volumes of SIMs.
  • Order 100 or 1,000 packs of embedded (MFF2) SIMs.

You can reserve an eSIM profile that can be downloaded onto an eSIM (eUICC enabled SIMs) by using our ESimProfiles API.

You will be able to:

  • Reserve and download up to 10 eSIM profiles per 30 days.

Speak to sales if you need to:

  • Reserve and download larger volumes of eSIM profiles.

You can control which networks your SIMs can connect to with the Network Access Profile that is assigned to each Fleet. Each of these Networks may have a different price per MB or SMS Command (machine-to-machine SMS) that is exchanged between your device and cloud. You can add or remove Networks from your Network Access Profile by using the Twilio Console or API.

Learn more about Network Access Profiles and Fleets here or see the complete list of available networks.

You will be able to:

  • Choose from >150 our global networks.

Speak to sales if you need to:

  • Use one or more of the other 250+ global networks supported by Super SIM.

Data limits control how much data each SIM assigned to a Fleet can use each billing period, which resets each month on the day the SIM was activated*. The data limit is configured on the Fleet. Learn more about Fleets and data limits here.

You will be able to:

  • Set a Fleet's data limit to a value up to 500 MBs. This should be more data than typical IoT use cases require.

Speak to sales if you need to:

  • Allow each SIM on a Fleet to use more than 500 MBs per billing period.

* The data limit resets when the SIM's active Billing Period expires and a new one starts. Learn more about SIM Billing Periods here.

You can control whether or not your devices can exchange SMS Commands (machine-to-machine SMS) by setting the sms_commands_enabled property on a Fleet, which needs to be set to true to use SMS Commands. By default, you will not be able to create Fleets with SMS Commands enabled.

Speak to sales if you need to:

  • Use SMS Commands to exchange machine-to-machine SMS between your device and cloud.

New users of our IoT products will not see Programmable Wireless on the IoT Order page. If you are interested in purchasing Programmable Wireless SIMs, please speak to sales.
