Twilio Unified Login Overview

Unified Login simplifies user experience by enabling Twilio users to utilize their Twilio email, password, and authentication settings across various products, including SendGrid.

To get started with Unified Login, you have the option to create new Segment or SendGrid users directly from the Twilio Console, ensuring a hassle-free setup process.

Unified Login not only enhances user convenience but also strengthens security and access management across Twilio's suite of products.

User Linking

Unified Login lets you use one set of user credentials to log in to all Twilio products. Unified Login is available to eligible, existing SendGrid users.

As you log in to SendGrid and you are an eligible user, you are prompted to either link your Twilio login credentials or sign up as a new Twilio user. Please note the following:

  • In order to complete the User Linking process, you must link with the same email address that you use for your SendGrid account. You can change your SendGrid or Twilio email address via the respective Consoles prior to linking your users.
  • At this time, linking multiple SendGrid accounts to one Twilio user is not supported. If you have multiple SendGrid accounts tied to the same email:
    • If your email address is also your SendGrid username, that account must be linked first. You are required to first link the SendGrid account in which your email address is your SendGrid username.
    • If none of your SendGrid accounts use your email address as the username, make sure that you only complete the User Linking process with the SendGrid account you wish to link to your Twilio user.
  • Once your Twilio and SendGrid users are linked, the email address you used is now your unique identifier. You are no longer able to create additional SendGrid accounts with that email address.

If you sign up as a new Twilio user, you need to verify your email address and set up two-factor authentication in order to complete the process.

Once you complete the User Linking process, you can log in to both your Twilio and SendGrid accounts using your Twilio login credentials. Your old SendGrid login credentials no longer work.

If you run into any issues with this experience, please reach out to the SendGrid support team(link takes you to an external page).

Your Console after linking

After linking your Twilio and SendGrid users, a new navigation bar appears in your Console. This navigation bar is consistent across all of your Twilio products, is the home for your user profile, and allows you to easily navigate to Twilio, SendGrid, or Segment Consoles.

To navigate between Twilio Comms, Twilio SendGrid, and Twilio Segment, click on the icon made up of four squares in the top right-hand corner of the Console and select the appropriate product.

You can configure most of your user settings (e.g., email, password, and two-factor authorization) right from the Twilio Console. Account settings and teammates are still managed within your SendGrid user interface.
