Email Insights
Email Insights is a self-service analytics product that gives you near real-time visibility into your email deliverability and engagement. It brings aggregate email analytics into a single, unified dashboard organized into three tabs: Overview, Delivery Errors, and Audience Health.
Email Insights is available in the Twilio SendGrid Console under Stats > Email Insights and in the Twilio Console under Monitor > Insights > Email.
Email Insights and Email Logs are complementary tools designed to be used together.
| Email Insights | Email Logs | |
|---|---|---|
| View | Aggregate trends across all your email | Individual message events |
| Use when | You want to understand patterns ("What is my bounce rate at Gmail this week?") | You want to investigate a specific message ("What happened to this email?") |
| Time range | Aggregate history starting August 20, 2026, building toward 13 months | 30 days of message-level event history |
Think of Email Insights as zoom out and Email Logs as zoom in. The two products are directly linked. When the underlying messages are within Email Logs retention, you can click View Logs from supported aggregates in Email Insights to open Email Logs with the same date range and filters, scoped to the messages represented by that aggregate.
Email Insights has three tabs:
| Tab | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Overview | Account-wide KPI summary, email event funnel, volume over time, and top devices by opens |
| Delivery Errors | Bounce and block trends, delivery issue breakdowns by domain and IP address |
| Audience Health | Open and click trends, opens by country, engagement rates by domain, and recipient engagement patterns |
To learn which filters each tab supports, see Filters and dimensions. To learn when data appears and how far back it goes, see Data freshness and retention.
Email Insights and Stats are separate analytics products. The Stats pages (Global Stats, Category Stats, Advanced Stats, and others) and the /v3/stats API family remain available. You can use either product depending on your workflow. Email Insights is available in the console only, with no public API, so keep using the Stats APIs for programmatic access.
Aggregate counts can differ between the two for the same date range. The biggest reason is timing. Email Insights counts each event toward the time its message was sent, while Stats counts it when the event happens. Differences from Stats explains each difference and how large a difference to expect.
