And that’s a wrap on Day 2 of SIGNAL 2019! We saw major product announcements, the debut of TwilioQuest 3, guest appearances from Mindy Kaling and Macklemore, and much more. No big deal, right?  It’s been a jam-packed day, and we’re going to do our best to capture all the highlights below in our Day 2 recap. Enjoy!

Twilio.org

Erin Reilly, Vice President of Social Impact and GM of Twilio.org, took to the stage to share how Twilio.org served 3,500 non-profits, helping over 100 million people find a home, get access to benefits, get support in a moment of crisis, receive an education, and more.

Communications can often mean the difference between life and death, and nonprofits want to deliver the right message at the right time to the right person, all at the scale of the problem they’re tackling.

That’s why Twilio.org announced today that it will provide a total of $5 million in grants by the end of 2019 to nonprofits globally that help people in crisis by addressing domestic violence, substance abuse, sexual assault, suicide prevention and mental health, and natural disasters.

The Future of Trusted Communications

Americans are answering a little more than 50% of the calls they receive on their cell phones — which means businesses are not reaching a significant number of their customers. Now available in beta, Verified By Twilio allows businesses to identify themselves with a name/logo on the recipient’s screen.  Twilio wants every communication to be a trusted communication, and today marks an important step forward.

Thanks, and Farewell! As of now, Macklemore is stuck in the cloud and SIGNAL developers are on a mission to unlock him for $BASH this evening. Macklemore’s fate is in the hands of very capable builders, so we have no doubt he’ll be freed for an amazing show tonight. Fingers crossed! Thanks for being with us at SIGNAL.

We can’t wait to see what you build.
