Introducing the Impact Access Builder Hub

Today, the Twilio.org team is excited to launch the all-new Impact Access Builder Hub: a curated library of technical resources designed to help social impact organizations use Twilio to reach more people and scale their missions.

Many nonprofits have shared with us that it can be daunting to figure out exactly how to get started with Twilio after receiving kickstart product credits from Twilio.org. You may have an idea of what you’d like to accomplish — perhaps driving deeper relationships with donors, or engaging with the community you serve using new digital channels. However, figuring out which of Twilio’s products to use and how to start building for your social impact use cases can often be challenging. What’s more, finding low-code prototyping tools is essential for the many program managers, IT staffers, and other non-developers at nonprofits to get started with Twilio.

What is the Impact Access Builder Hub?

The Impact Access Builder Hub is designed to help bridge these onboarding gaps, and make it easier for more nonprofit builders to get up-and-running with Twilio. Here’s a look at some of the resources you can find on the hub today:

  • Using Twilio Frontline for insight-driven donor engagement
  • How to modernize a crisis line on Twilio Flex
  • Using SMS for healthcare appointment management
  • Setting up a WhatsApp Chatbot with Programmable Messaging & TextIt
  • How to use Twilio in places without phone number availability

This is a small sample of the dozens of getting started templates and guides that illustrate how to use Twilio for common social impact use cases. The Impact Access Builder Hub spans Twilio’s product portfolio, including Messaging, Flex, Frontline, and Segment. This way, you can be sure you’re using the best combinations of products for your program’s needs.

If you haven’t already, we highly recommend signing up for the Twilio.org Impact Access Program before exploring the Builder Hub. This is so you can start prototyping with discounted pricing and credits already applied to your account.

What else should I know?

For most nonprofits coming to Twilio, you’re coming with an audience that you want to engage with in mind. The Builder Hub tags each resource based on the audience(s) that it is meant to support:

  • Community & constituents: Increase access to your services and communication with those you serve with digital channels
  • Donors & supporters: Reach your fundraising goals and create lifetime advocates
  • Staff & volunteers: Meet rising demand for services with efficient tools

Similarly, we want to make it easier for program managers, IT staff, and other builders who are not professional engineers to ship momentum-building apps with Twilio. That’s why we’ve also included a low-code filter that you can use to identify templates that you can deploy to your Twilio account that require little to no programming — many in just one-click.
