Twilio Bug Logo

Twilio is excited to announce that we are sponsoring Cloudstock, a free, one-day cloud developer event on March 15 in San Francisco. At Cloudstock you will have the chance to rub elbows with various developers who are changing the world in which we live while you enjoy the engaging technical sessions. If you haven’t already, register for this event.

Breakout Sessions

Twilio will be hosting a couple of breakout sessions, led by two of our top engineers. Here is a quick description of the sessions:

Technical Breakout Session :: Jonas Borjesson :: 2:30-3:30p
Create Realtime Social Experiences with Voice Apps

Imagine realtime collaboration between users on browsers, iPads, Android phones, and even traditional phones. With Twilio Client for Javascript, iOS and Android, just three lines of code will turn your web, mobile, or Force.com app into a voice communication platform that keeps users engaged, helps them connect to each other, or gets them talking to sales while you have their attention. Learn how your app can make and receive voice calls between users and to or from any phone number. This hands-on session introduces Twilio and Twilio Client and will have you up and running in no time.

Developer Theater Session :: Kyle Conroy :: 4-4:30p
Creating Usable REST APIs

Today’s programmers interact with many HTTP services on a day-to-day basis. Many services claim to have a “RESTful” API, but fail to achieve the full benefits of REST. In this session we’ll discuss best practices for API design. We’ll then refactor an existing API to be more RESTful. Attendees should come prepared to code, test, and deploy a live web service.

Not so Mini Hacks

Expect the unexpected at Cloudstock. Instead of the typical all-day or multi-day hackathon, Cloudstock attendees will be presented with a collection of “Mini Hacks.” There will be a total of six (count ‘em six!) hack challenges, each of which will last approximately 30 minutes and will focus on a different technology, focus, and skill level.

The objective for these six Mini Hacks is to give participants a chance to try something new with technologies that they haven’t used before. Test your skills against the Twilio challenge! Your successful solutions to the Mini Hack challenges will earn you awesome prizes, including Rokus and Jamboxes, among others.
