Coding for a Cause: SMS for Voter Registration

HelloVote is a chatbot that registers voters over SMS or FB Messenger. In 2016, we engaged 160K users at a 65% completion rate, and were covered by Twitter celebs and the national press. In this session, we’ll present our ongoing work to engage new voters in the democratic process to fight for the future of digital rights.
