Organizing at Scale

In 2016, many political and advocacy organizations used Hustle’s SMS platform to recruit volunteers, get supporters out for events, and get out the vote, resulting in 24 million texts to 4.6% of the total voting population. To accomplish those feats, Hustle needed to build a platform that could scale and deliver up to 10,000 messages / minute (600k in a single hour) and look up millions of contacts each day through Twilio’s platform.
