Twilio SIP Products Interface TLS 1.0/1.1 End of Life

Twilio has officially ended support for TLS 1.0 and TLS 1.1 protocols on Elastic SIP Trunking and Programmable Voice SIP interfaces.

Starting June 5, 2025, Twilio has officially ended support for TLS 1.0 and TLS 1.1 protocols on Elastic SIP Trunking and Programmable Voice SIP interfaces. As part of Twilio's commitment to security, this change aligns with industry standards to prevent vulnerabilities associated with older TLS protocols.

To avoid disruptions, customers previously using TLS 1.0 or 1.1 for SIP connections with Twilio should refer to their SIP vendor’s documentation to update to TLS 1.2 or higher immediately. Connections over TLS 1.0 or 1.1 will fail, leading to potential call setup issues.

Customers must configure their SIP infrastructure—including IP-PBX, SBCs, and SIP phones—to use TLS 1.2 or higher for all connections to Twilio.

This End of Life was previously communicated in November 2024, and upgrading TLS was recommended in March 2022.

Please contact Twilio Support if you require further assistance.
