Twilio Changelog | Dec. 16, 2025
Upcoming cipher suite list update for all Twilio REST API endpoints in early 2026
Security standards are always evolving, and we want to ensure your Twilio applications are using the strongest protection available.
To keep your applications secure, starting February 5, 2026, the Twilio REST API endpoints will only support the cipher suites listed below and support for any other cipher suites will end.
If you’re using legacy network software or older operating systems, you may need to update your systems to support the following new ciphers:
TLSv1.3_2025 ciphers
TLS_AES_128_GCM_SHA256
TLS_AES_256_GCM_SHA384
ECDSA ciphers (TLSv1.2_2025)
ECDHE-ECDSA-AES128-GCM-SHA256
ECDHE-ECDSA-AES256-GCM-SHA384
RSA ciphers (TLSv1.2_2025)
ECDHE-RSA-AES128-GCM-SHA256
ECDHE-RSA-AES256-GCM-SHA384
How to test your connection
You can test these changes ahead of time starting January 5, 2026, with a simple script to check connectivity against https://tls-test.twilio.com. If the request succeeds with a 200 OK, no further action is required.
