The Voice Recording Account Default Configuration is now Generally Available in us1
The Voice Recording Account Default Configuration is a new API that enables customers to set and manage default call recording settings for your account. Now Generally Available in us1.
The Voice Recording Account Default Configuration is a new API that enables customers to set and manage default call recording settings for your account. Once created, these settings apply automatically to all recorded calls, with no code changes required. Each account can only have one Voice Recording Account Default Configuration.
How Account Default Configurations work
Previously, when a recording setting was left undefined, Twilio applied its system default. Now you can define your own defaults, which can be used as the primary or fallback settings. To override your default configuration, either specify recording parameters in your API request or apply a Recording Configuration ID. You can’t do both. Doing so can affect the audio of the recording. Any setting left blank in your code or Recording Configuration falls back to the value in your default configuration. For example, if your request doesn’t specify trim and your default configuration sets trim=trim-silence, trim-silence is applied. If no default configuration exists, Twilio system defaults apply.
Availability
The Voice Recording Account Default Configuration is currently available in the us1 region only. Support for additional regions (au1, ie1) is planned.
Pricing
There is no additional cost for the Voice Recording Account Default Configuration. Standard call recording charges apply. If a Batch Transcription Configuration is triggered, standard Batch Transcription charges apply. If multiple Batch Transcription Configurations are included in your default configuration, each is billed separately.
Note: Batch Transcription Configuration is not available for accounts using PCI Mode, External Recording Storage, or Recording Encryption.
