Twilio REST API | Mar. 04, 2026

Twilio end-user certificates for all REST API endpoints will be rotated on April 8, 2026

Security and reliability go hand in hand, and we want to make sure your applications keep running smoothly while we work in the background to keep things safe.

That’s why on April 8, 2026, the end-user certificate for all Twilio REST API endpoints will be rotated.

This is a routine update that won’t impact most customers unless they’re pinning certificates or managing them manually. Only the end-user certificate and certificate serial number will be renewed. Root and intermediate certificates will remain the same.

We highly discourage customers from pinning certificates because it creates potential security risks, can cause downtimes for services, and a higher probability of failed API requests.

Customers using the Twilio Helper Libraries don’t need to take any action since the change will be handled automatically.

How to test your connection

The new certificate will be available for testing on https://tls-test.twilio.com starting March 9, 2026. Customers can test the new certificate by making a request from the production servers they use to make API calls to Twilio, and if the request succeeds with a 200 OK, no further action is required.
