Twilio Voice React Native SDK adds Expo Support
The Twilio Voice React Native SDK now supports Expo, the framework most new React Native apps start from.
With Expo support, developers can now add voice calling to their app without ever touching native Android or iOS code, reducing what used to be a detour through native engineering to a few lines in a config file. Expo and bare React Native are supported side by side, so every React Native team gets the same voice features whichever way their app is built.
It's available now in version 1.8:
One published package for both Expo and bare React Native
Expo apps turn on voice calling from the app config, with no native setup to maintain
Bare React Native apps upgrade from 1.7 with no changes to how the app is set up
If you're on the 2.0.0-preview line: the preview is retired, and everything in it ships in 1.8. Your app won't update on its own, so install 1.8.0 directly.
