Summer in winding down, and with the earlier sunsets comes school supply shopping, the last barbecues of the season, and an overall shift towards getting down to business.  But before that can all happen there is one more holiday of summer, and that holiday is this coming three-day weekend.

Azure Contest Deadline Extended to Sept. 13th

For those of you who've been looking forward to the Azure category, you're in luck – we've decided to extend the deadline for the Windows Azure category of our developer contest out one week to Sunday, September 13th at midnight so you won't have to miss out on the last weekend of summer and you'll have plenty of time to dig into the Azure platform.

Steve Marx, over on the Windows Azure team, posted a sample Twilio + Azure application to his blog yesterday that demonstrates how simple it is to create click-to-call functionality alongside a form that takes your phone number as input.  The idea is simple: post your phone number to the form and receive a call.

This is the second of Steve's highly entertaining Twilio on Azure example apps paired with straightforward code samples, and we're sure it will help you get started.  I'm looking forward to coding up a demo application of my own over the weekend and sharing my experience as well.

Good luck to everyone who enters the contest!
