Intelligent Alerts is now Generally Available

Written by

For all builders who manage a global messaging platform, managing and monitoring your messaging solution is often a game of "find the needle in the haystack." You know your traffic patterns, but when deliverability drops, the clock starts ticking. Traditional monitoring requires you to manually set static thresholds that often result in "alarm fatigue" – or worse, missed incidents because they didn't account for your traffic growth.

Today, Intelligent Alerts is Generally Available (GA) in Twilio Messaging Insights, giving Messaging customers a smarter way to detect abnormal error spikes and respond faster.

Intelligent Alerts moves you from reactive troubleshooting to proactive resolution. By leveraging machine learning models that analyze your historical messaging traffic and automatically detect anomalies in real-time – we then notify you before a minor fluctuation becomes a major outage.

Why Intelligent Alerts? Built for Builders, Scaled for Growth

Monitoring messaging health shouldn't be a full-time job. Intelligent Alerts is designed to act as an extension of your engineering team, providing:

  • Zero-Config Anomaly Detection: No more manual thresholding. Our ML models calculate a "normal" baseline based on your last 7 days of history, adjusting dynamically as your business scales.

  • Granular Visibility: We monitor traffic at the account_sid and mcc_mnc (carrier/country) level, ensuring you know exactly where the friction is occurring.

  • Actionable Impact Labeling: Not all errors are equal. Every alert is classified as Urgent, Important, or Warning so your team knows what to prioritize first.

  • Delivered directly to your inbox: Email notifications help your team stay informed without needing to constantly monitor dashboards.

Proven Value: From Beta to GA

During our beta period, we saw over 3,000 parent accounts subscribe to proactive notifications, proving that builders are hungry for smarter telemetry. The results speak for themselves:

"Intelligent Alerts have been instrumental in helping us address problems quickly, keeping downtime low and client satisfaction high across our business." — Kayla Mager, Product Specialist at Paradox Inc.

Other customers, like Statflo, used these proactive signals to identify A2P registration gaps, ultimately reducing message filtering by 79%.

What’s New for General Availability?

With the move to GA, we’ve added features to give you even more control:

  • Error-Specific Preferences: You can now select exactly which error codes (such as 30007 for filtering or 30008 for unknown errors) trigger a notification.

  • Improved Detection for Low-Volume Accounts: We’ve rolled out new logic to ensure that even smaller sub-accounts receive high-quality, relevant alerts without false negatives.

  • In-Email Feedback: We’ve added a direct feedback loop to alert emails so you can tell us whether a detection was helpful. As we continue investing in Intelligent Alerts beyond GA, this input will help us make alerts smarter, more relevant, and better tailored to your preferences.

In a world filled with notifications and alerts, start receiving the ones that can impact your customer engagement – Intelligent Alerts is now available to all Twilio Messaging customers.
