That’s right, Tumblr’s developers got wind of Twilio last week, and within a few hours had kicked out a post-by-phone feature. How does it work?
On your tumblr Goodies page, you enter your phone number and an optional PIN. When you call into the toll free number, it recognizes your CallerID, and automatically knows which blog you’re posting to! With the optional PIN, you can be sure nobody’s trying to post from your phone. Then you just shout out a drunken post, and boom! It’s on your tumblog.
Congrats Marco and the rest of the Tumblr team. We like to think that when they were done coding up this awesome feature, they sat down to a freshly roasted turkey and finished LOTR.
