Can telephony and text messages serve as a band aid for your personal health? We want to find out with this week’s developer contest where we explore the world of staying healthy using Twilio. Kicking off today, we’re figuring out how to keep the working developer alive and healthy with Twilio Client.

Use Twilio Client to dial up some workout tunes on your laptop with elapsed time announcements. Create a website widget to connect users to an IVR tree to connect patients’ symptoms with subject matter experts who can provide the right care. Create a hotline for public health notices or the pharmacy closest to the user’s location.

If it makes you healthy, it’s eligible to compete for this week’s grand prize:

  • A brand spanking new 11-inch Macbook Air
  • A full pass to Twilio September 21st and 22nd at Bentley Reserve in San Francisco
  • $100 in Twilio credit
  • Assorted swag delivered in a sharp Twilio Timbuk2 messenger bag

As always, we love tasty multimedia morsels like screencasts, instructional videos or made-for-TV medical dramas that help describe your submission and how it can create a healthier, happier you.

Entries must be submitted by 11:59 PM PDT Sunday September 18th.  You can submit your entry here.

What’s This Developer Contest About?

Every other week we launch a new contest to encourage developers to try using Twilio to make the world a better place. As a language agnostic platform for cloud communications, we want developers of every shape, size and stripe to solve problems and grab a little glory using Twilio. To kickstart the creative process, we’ve run these developer contests for over a year.

How To Get Involved

Submissions are accepted via this handy-dandy form. If you need any help or want to bounce some ideas off of other Twilio coders, join us on our forums or just drop a note to help@twilio.com.
