Twilio Vice President of Engineering, Ott Kaukver will oversee the R&D team based out of the new Mountain View office.
"Having a South Bay presence will be a great boost to our talent search," said Kaukver. "The new Mountain View office will greatly expand the available talent pool from which we draw."
"We are thrilled to welcome Twilio to the Mountain View community," said Mayor of Mountain View, Chris Clark. "I know that Twilio will leverage our innovative talent and resources for the future of business communications."
"R&D is in our DNA," said Jeff Lawson, CEO and co-founder of Twilio. "When we founded Twilio, we knew there was no instruction manual, and we needed to create the product for a market that we knew existed, but so far hadn't been addressed. A presence in the South Bay will let us tap into the deep talent pool of the Valley and continue our tradition of empowering our customers with access to the latest, most forward-thinking communications technology available. We can't wait to see what they'll build next."
Reporting directly to Kaukver, Tech Lead Tyler Wells will helm the Mountain View office. Kaukver, Wells and Twilio's internal recruiting team will be responsible for staffing the Mountain View office, which can accommodate 60 people.
