Streamline Multi-Account Access with One Credential on Twilio SendGrid
Managing multiple accounts on SendGrid is a critical capability for customers who have different departments or want billing control between product lines. A single user that needs access to multiple accounts must create a unique set of login credentials, which means constantly logging in and out, switching between dashboards, and generally maintaining multiple sets of credentials.
We’re excited to announce that customers can now use one credential to access multiple SendGrid accounts through a single, shared SendGrid and Twilio credential, simplifying the login experience.
How it works
Multi-account access is powered by teammate invitations:
Teammates are added to SendGrid accounts, as usual, through the teammate invitation flow on the teammate management page.
SendGrid users using One Twilio Login, whether as a new signup or an existing linked user, can then be invited to a second SendGrid account using the email already used.
Upon accepting the invitation, the user will simply gain additional access to this second SendGrid account - no new credentials needed!
How do I know if I am using One Twilio Login?
- If you are redirected to the Twilio login page when you are logging into SendGrid, that means you are using One Twilio Login.
SendGrid signups and teammate invitations since mid-2024 are automatically using One Twilio login.
Users prior to that can self-serve and link their SendGrid user to a Twilio user upon SendGrid login. If you don’t see this option, you may be running into eligibility issues. You can delete and recreate your teammate with your target email, or else hang tight - we’re working to extend this soon.
What if I’m not using One Twilio Login?
If you are not using One Twilio Login, the teammate invitation may not work “this email already exists” or you might create a second credential that is not tied to the first credential upon the invitation acceptance.
The new multi-account experience
There are some new experience elements after a teammate has multi-account access in order to support the navigation between these SendGrid accounts.
Upon successful login, the user will see this new account selection page in which they can select which account they want to login to. The account selection page will display the account friendly name and the unique user ID of the account. The account friendly name is defaulted to “My SendGrid account”, and any admins on the account can change this in the account settings page. The user ID is unique to a parent account or subuser, and is also displayed in the account settings page. Click “login” and you’re in the SendGrid dashboard for that account.
Need to switch accounts? Use the top navigation button to return to the account selection page and hop to another account—no need to sign out and in each time.
Note: Admin teammates that have implied access to all their subusers will show up in this same button but on a different account selection page.
We’re excited to take the next step in account consolidation to make your SendGrid and Twilio experiences smoother than ever. Managing multiple accounts now happens from a single, shared SendGrid and Twilio credential, giving you a streamlined and secure experience.
