Calling All AI Startups: Twilio’s Startup Searchlight 2026 Is Here

We’re committed to celebrating founders and developers who are exploring new approaches to communications and customer engagement – and that's why we are excited to announce the launch of Twilio's AI Startup Searchlight 2026.

The Twilio AI Startup Searchlight program, now in its fourth year (see our 2023, 2024, and 2025 honorees), is Twilio’s celebration of startups exploring new approaches to communications and customer engagement while clearly demonstrating creative uses of emerging technologies (voice, identity, generative AI, conversational AI, LLM-powered agents, and other breakthrough innovations) built on and integrated with the Twilio Platform.

Whether you’re building something better for businesses, for people, or for the future, this program is for you. Show us how your startup is shaping the future of communications and customer engagement on Twilio.

1. Sign up for a Twilio, SendGrid, or Segment account (if you haven’t yet).
2. Show a working demo of your solution clearly demonstrating how you’ve integrated with the Twilio Platform: whether you’re leveraging voice, generative AI, identity solutions, or pioneering entirely new ways for technology and humans to connect.
3. Make sure you qualify: Your startup must have raised less than $200M in venture funding.
4. Timeline:
   • Applications open, Apply by Friday September 11, 2026:
     • Submit your application here
     • (Applications reviewed on a rolling basis; early submissions encouraged.)
   • Judging Process: Late September - Late October 2026 (final honoree selection)
   • 30 Honorees Announced: Mid - Late November 2026

The Twilio AI Startup Searchlight honors forward-thinking startups who want more than recognition… they want resources to enable their continued growth.

This year, the program is back and bigger than ever, featuring two distinct tracks. If your startup is selected as one of our 30 winners, you could receive one of the following prizes:

Track 1: Breakthrough Builders (10 Honorees)

For early-stage startups redefining the tech frontier by introducing novel approaches and reshaping what AI can do in the real world. You might fit Track 1 if you’re early but sharp, with a differentiated solution, strong technical foundation, and clear path to impact.

Track 1 Prizes

• Be featured online by Twilio and a leading technology media outlet to celebrate your startup and its milestones;
• Receive up to $2,500 USD in one-time OpenAI API Credits;
• Receive a one-time grant of up to $5,000 USD in Twilio credits;
• Receive a Ramp gift card worth up to $2500 USD;
• Receive exclusive Twilio Swag valued at $150 USD, with surprise extras;
• Build a direct relationship with Twilio Ventures, our Corporate Venture Capital team: Honorees receive ongoing 1:1 engagement with the Twilio Ventures team. Pitch your startup, showcase your product, and receive strategic feedback as we support you on your journey. This is an opportunity to build a long-term strategic relationship that can strengthen your fundraising story and position you for future conversations;

• Gain the opportunity to be showcased within TwilioWorld, our story-driven learning experience. Builders could discover your product as a recommended tool or an embedded challenge while they build real-world projects on Twilio.

Track 2: Scaling Visionaries (20 Honorees)

For venture-backed AI startups with proven traction, shipping to real customers, scaling responsibly, and turning bold ideas into market-changing realities. You might fit Track 2 if you’re expanding fast, leading your niche, and building durable advantages with AI in production.

Track 2 Prizes

• Be featured online by Twilio and a leading technology media outlet to celebrate your startup and its milestones;
• Receive up to $2,500 USD in one-time OpenAI API Credits;
• Receive a one-time grant of up to $10,000 USD in Twilio credits;
• Receive a Ramp gift card worth up to $5,000 USD;
• Receive exclusive Twilio Swag valued at $300 USD, with surprise extras;

  • Be considered to be a part of the Founders Connect Fellowship (invite-only).

Who should apply?

We're looking to feature startups that:

• Clearly demonstrate how they’re using emerging technologies (voice, identity, generative AI, conversational AI, LLM-powered agents, and other breakthrough innovations) built on or integrated with the Twilio Platform (e.g., Voice, Email, Messaging, Authentication, Customer Data, Conversational AI, and more. See our products here.)
• Have a product in the market and can provide a working, functional demo showing how they integrate Twilio and emerging technologies to enhance the end-user experience;
• Have raised less than $200M in venture funding.
