Consent Management in Segment Connections is now Generally Available
Consent Management is available to all users on the Business Tier plan.
This feature enables customers with Segment library sources to capture end-user consent preferences from a consent management platform (CMP) and then route end user data only to destination categories end users have consented to share data with.
For more information, see the Consent in Segment Connections documentation.
Public API SDKs are available in Public Beta for Go, Swift, Typescript, and Java
Language-specific client SDKs for the Public API are available to help you adopt the Public API more efficiently.
These SDKs are open-sourced, and available on GitHub for Go, Swift, TypeScript and Java.
Legacy Amazon S3 Destination End of Sale
In Q4 2021, Segment upgraded the AWS S3 integration to improve its security. The new, more secure AWS S3 destination uses an Identity Access Management (IAM) role designated by the customer during setup, which improves privacy and security and aligns with AWS best practices.
Segment is now moving the legacy Amazon S3 destination into Limited Access. This means that:
- You will see an in-app banner on the old Amazon S3 destination with recommendations and instructions to migrate to the new AWS S3 with IAM destination.
- You will be prevented from updating any old Amazon S3 destinations, but Segment continues to guarantee delivery and support for both destinations.
Customers using our old Amazon S3 destination are encouraged to migrate to the new, more secure AWS S3 with IAM destination today.
Compute Progress Bar General Availability
Compute Progress Bar will help you get more clarity on the progress of your audience or computed trait creation with a progress bar, computation statuses, and percentage completed.
Segment has updated the Audience and Trait builder for a more consistent experience, and you’ll also see a confirmation screen for each Audience or Trait you create. This feature provides more visibility and predictability during the audience and computed trait creation and edit process.
For more information, see the Audiences and Computed Traits documentation.
Data Graph Entity Preview General Availability
The Data Graph now supports previews of entity data from the data warehouse. After selecting an entity in the Data Graph, users can view sample rows from the referenced warehouse table/view in order to verify that the Data Graph — and tools using it such as Linked Audiences and Linked Events — are referencing correct data.
React Native 2.0 Public Beta
React Native 2.0 is a major version upgrade to the existing React Native library. Analytics React Native provides a lightweight, modern, JavaScript-centric instrumentation experience for mobile apps.

Analytics.js Classic to be Deprecated
On August 31, 2022, Segment will end support and maintenance for Analytics.js Classic, and on February 28, 2023, Segment will remove access to Analytics.js Classic.
For additional information and instructions on how to upgrade to Analytics.js 2.0, see the migration documentation.
Reddit Conversions API Destination - Public Beta
The Reddit Conversions API integration is now in public beta for all Segment customers. This server-side integration enables direct conversion tracking from Segment to Reddit without requiring client-side implementation, helping advertisers maintain robust measurement capabilities in the face of browser restrictions and signal loss.
For more information on implementation details and best practices, check out our Reddit Conversions API Docs.
SendGrid Destination Supports Send Email - Public Beta

Salesforce (Actions) Destination Bulk API 2.0 Support General Availability
Support for the Salesforce Bulk API 2.0 is now Generally Available in the Salesforce (Actions) destination.
With this new functionality, customers can opt to send data to Salesforce in batches of up to 1000 events. By default, the Salesforce (Actions) destination will continue to send data to the Salesforce streaming REST API, but customers can choose to use the Bulk API 2.0 instead.
For more information, see Segment's Salesforce (Actions) Destination documentation.
