Twilio Health Score for Messaging and Personalized Recommendations are now GA
Time to read:
Managing a customer engagement solution at scale is complex. For developers, ensuring messages land in the right hands often means spending too much time fighting fires – investigating error logs, deciphering carrier regulations, and troubleshooting deliverability spikes, instead of building new features.
Twilio is built for builders. That’s why we are thrilled to announce the General Availability (GA) of Twilio Health Score for Messaging and Personalized Recommendations.
These new capabilities are designed to help you proactively monitor your messaging solution, troubleshoot critical issues instantly, and optimize performance using data-driven insights – all available today, for free, directly in the Twilio Console.
Stop fighting fires: proactive monitoring with Twilio Health Score
The Twilio Health Score for Messaging (formerly Deliverability Score) gives you a comprehensive and simplified view of your messaging traffic performance. It answers the critical question: "Is my messaging system healthy?" by comparing your performance against industry-standard benchmarks.
The score provides a comprehensive breakdown across five key subscores: Sent Rate, Compliance, Fraud, Latency, and Engagement. Rather than making our customers sift through raw data, the Health Score highlights Top Issues and prioritizes the specific errors or patterns impacting your success so you can focus on what matters most.
The impact of this visibility is tangible for businesses scaling their operations. As Mallory Mahoney, Product Manager at SSA Group, explains:
"Managing messaging is time-consuming and complex - we take care of this so our customers don’t have to. The Health Score for Messaging helps us proactively monitor our messaging health and gives us direction on how to improve. We’ve used the Subscores, like Compliance and Latency, to identify best practices, and the simplicity of the score makes it easy for our leadership and stakeholders to see we are trending in the right direction."
Go from problem to solution with Personalized Recommendations
Identifying the problem with Twilio Health Score is only the first step. Personalized Recommendations take you from diagnosis to resolution.
Builders often struggle to understand why messages fail or what specific action will fix a compliance related issue in their messaging engagement. This new recommendation tooling analyzes your specific traffic patterns, error codes, and account configuration to provide:
Root Cause Analysis: A clear explanation of why the issue is happening.
Actionable Next Steps: Specific instructions or tools to resolve the issue.
Quantified Impact: A forecast of the value of taking action, such as estimated dollar savings, deliverability gains, or latency improvements,.
At GA, the system provides two distinct types of recommendations to help you maintain your solution:
Solution Recommendations: These guide you through fixing specific blockers. For example, if your traffic is hitting Error 30034 (A2P registration issues), the system will detect whether the failure stems from your Brand, Campaign, or Phone Number registration and guide you directly to the Compliance Dashboard to resolve it.
Product Recommendations: These suggest Twilio tools that can optimize your specific use case. If you are sending SMS to landlines or invalid numbers, the system may recommend Line Type Intelligence (LTI) or the Lookup API to reduce wasted spend. Other recommendations available now include SMS Pumping Protection, Traffic Optimization Engine (TOE), Verify, and the Compliance Toolkit.
Built for Builders
We believe that maintaining a healthy messaging solution shouldn't require a support ticket. These tools are designed to put control back in your hands.
Free and Accessible: Both the Health Score and Personalized Recommendations are available to all messaging customers within Twilio Console.
Smart and Adaptive: The recommendations engine includes a feedback loop. By marking recommendations as "helpful" or "not helpful," you train the system to provide even more relevant insights tailored to your specific role and data over time.
Ready to stop troubleshooting and start optimizing? You can find your Twilio Health Score and Personalized Recommendations waiting for you now on the Messaging Insights Overview page in the Console.
