Outbound SMS - Domestic and International Routes
Last Updated: August 15, 2025
If Customer is approved for a domestic route for outbound SMS, Twilio will automatically send such outbound SMS using a domestic route.
If Customer is not approved for a domestic route, Twilio will send outbound SMS using an international route. Customer may migrate to a domestic route for outbound SMS on a go-forward basis only once all of the following occur: (a) Customer is approved by a telecommunications provider for a Sender ID for domestic SMS traffic; (b) Customer notifies Twilio in writing of such telecommunications provider’s approval; and (c) Twilio has configured Customer's Sender ID for domestic SMS traffic.
Twilio may, at any time, automatically migrate Customer from a domestic route to an international route if any one of the following occurs: (i) Customer sends international SMS traffic over a domestic route; (ii) a domestic route becomes unavailable for any reason; or (iii) a telecommunications provider determines that Customer is no longer eligible to use a domestic route.
