Program Membership Rewards
Champions will have access to: Twilions (our word for Twilio employees), exclusive events, special swag, and pre-release products.
Champions will also be awarded tickets to the annual Champions Summit. The Champions Summit is an invite-only, daylong program filled with workshops, talks and content geared toward Champions and their interests with Twilio. While we hope that all Twilio Champions will be able to attend, unfortunately Twilio will not be providing travel or accommodations for the Champions Summit. However, the Champions Summit will occur the day before Twilio’s annual SIGNAL conference, which most Champions regularly attend.
Please note that all Rewards are granted at the discretion of Twilio, may change at any time, and have no cash value.
Twilio Champions Slack Channel
Champions will be added to the Twilio Champions Slack Channel. The Slack channel provides a place for Champions to connect with each other and connect with Twilions. The space provides Champions a go-to place for Twilio related news, providing feedback, etc.
Twilio Champions Website
You will have access to the Champions website at https://twilio.com/champions. Here, you’ll be able to view a detailed outline of the program, nominate other Champions, and view a list of other current Twilio Champions.
Publicity
We want to share you with the world! We want to recognize your good works! If you participate in the Program, we may share your name (and likeness) for promotional purposes. Yes, it’s also about us, and we’re advertising the program, but it’s about you, too. By participating in the Program, you consent to Twilio using your name and likeness for advertising and promotional purposes in any media without further notice, payment, or consideration, except where prohibited by law. Twilio also reserves the right to share your name and email address with other Champions (this benefits you as well, since you will have access to contact information for other Champions).
Twilio Champions Brand Guidelines
We encourage Champions to use the special Twilio Champions logo to tell the world that they are Twilio Champions. Thus, we have compiled these guidelines to walk you through how to use the Twilio Champions Program logo. These guidelines will help you apply the logo consistently across all media types. If for any reason you can’t find what you’re looking for, or are just not sure, feel free to ask.
Twilio Champions Logo
We are in the process of creating a Twilio Champions logo (the “Logo”). Once it is finalized, we will post it on https://twilio.com/champions and alert all then-current Champions. Please do not alter the Logo in any way when you use it.
Social Media Guidelines
As a member of the Twilio Champions Program you are not only representing yourself, but also Twilio. With that in mind, when engaging on social media channels, we encourage you to behave respectfully. For example:
- Do not use ethnic slurs, personal insults, or obscenity in your community participation.
- Do not engage in personal attacks on other members of the Twilio community or related third parties.
- Do not disparage other customers, partners, prospects, or Twilio employees.
We also encourage you to disclose that you are affiliated with the Twilio Champions Program on social media by using the logo and/or a short bio statement. For example:
“I am a Twilio Champion. For more information on the Twilio Champions Program, visit: https://twilio.com/champions.”
Brand Ambassadors
As we noted above, Twilio Champions are some of Twilio’s biggest brand ambassadors. What Champions say in the public domain has more weight than other community members. All Champions are expected to use Twilio’s branding appropriately including all Twilio logos and the Program logo. For detailed information on what can and can’t be done with Twilio’s trademarks, see Twilio’s brand and trademark usage guidelines at https://www.twilio.com/legal/trademark and https://www.twilio.com/company/brand.
Former Champions
The above branding guidelines apply to only to current Twilio Champions. Upon leaving the program, you will be required to remove references to being a Twilio Champion in all forums including social media, LinkedIn, email signature, blogs, etc. You can reference your past award by using “Twilio Champion, Duration”, but you must include the duration to avoid misrepresenting yourself as a current member of the Champions Program. The Twilio Champions logo can only be used by current members of the Champions Program, and must be removed from all social profiles and forums.
Champions Program Expiration and Renewal Process
Expiration: Champion status will expire on a yearly basis (based upon the date you achieved the status) and Champions will be required to be re-nominated if they wish to become a Champion again after their status expires or they choose not to renew.
Renewal: You may renew your Champion status, provided you have (1) engaged in at least two (2) activities listed above in the Nomination Qualifications section; and (2) not engaged in any activity that, in Twilio’s sole discretion, is detrimental or in apposite to the company, its goals, and/or this program. Fill out the renewal form on the Champions website within one month of the end of your current term to renew your Champions status.
Early Termination: You may withdraw from the Twilio Champions program at any time. Just send an email to champions@twilio.com. Likewise, if Twilio must remove you from the program prior to the end of your one-year term, we will inform you via email at the address you provide when you join the program.
Sensitive Information and NDA
As a Twilio Champion, Twilio may entrust you with certain information before the public is informed or provide you with certain confidential information. Because of this, ALL Twilio Champions are required to sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement. All Twilio Champions are bound by this Non-Disclosure Agreement (attached) and, pursuant to its terms, cannot discuss ANY material not already in the public domain.
If you are ever unsure whether certain material is already in the public domain, please reach out to champions@twilio.com to confirm.
Code of Conduct for Twilio Champions
A primary goal of the Program is to encourage and recognize individuals that exemplify Twilio’s core values. This Code of Conduct outlines our expectations for all of our Champions. Please help Twilio keep the community a welcoming and friendly place for all.
Be an owner. Participate in an authentic and active way. Help others and work together. Champions help lead and innovate solutions that have a positive impact on the community.
Empower others. As we are all a part of the same community, be friendly and welcoming. Take the time to listen and be respectful and constructive in your communications. We assume this one is a big “duh,” since that’s why you’re here in the first place, but you know, the lawyers.
No Shenanigans. Abusive harassing language and actions are not in line with the values of our community. Don’t make personal attacks. Exercise consideration and respect in your speech and actions. Don’t steal other peoples’ stuff. Do not make any statements or representations in your role as a Champion that are in any way misleading, defamatory, infringing, libelous, disparaging, obscene, or otherwise objectionable to Twilio. Who will judge whether your statements are objectionable? Twilio.
Twilio Champions Program Removal
Behaving in a way that is inconsistent with these guidelines may result in a Champions removal from the program. Should you be withdrawn from the program, you will be required to remove all Twilio Champion references in all forums including social media, LinkedIn, emails signatures, blogs, etc.
No Employment or Agency
We said it before, but it bears repeating: we love you, but we didn’t hire you. That means you’re not an employee, we’re not requiring you do anything, and being a Champion doesn’t make you an employee. We’re recognizing that you’re a good person. In short, the Program does not create an agency or partnership with Champions. Champions are not employees and agree not to act as employees of Twilio.
Champions are not entitled to any compensation, options, stock or other rights or benefits accorded to Twilio employees; and you waive any right to them and promise never to claim them.
Interpretation of Program Terms
Please do take this program in the spirit in which is was created. If you spot something that doesn’t make sense, let us know and we’ll tell you what we meant. All interpretations of these Program Terms will be at Twilio's sole discretion and Twilio's decisions will be final.
Disclaimers (the lawyers, you know)
Our goal, as we’ve stated, is to recognize the good people who work in our community. We hope the program will last and grow without interruption. We hope it sparks a new era of positive communication and collaboration. That’s the goal, but sometimes reality kicks in. We strive to meet the goal, but be aware the program may be unavailable, inaccurate or interrupted from time to time for a variety of reasons. Twilio is not responsible for any unavailability, interruptions or errors of the program.
The program and all the information accessible through it are provided for information purposes only on an "as is" and "as available" basis. That means we make commercially reasonable efforts to post accurate and error free information for the purpose for which it was intended. We, our information providers and their agents make no warranties, representations, or guarantees of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to, accuracy, currency, or completeness, the operation of the Program, the information, materials, content, availability, and products. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including but not limited to, implied warranties or merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose.
Contacting You
Once you become a Champion, we’ll be reaching out to you with updates, information, and in some cases, providing you with access to perks. We will use the email address you provided to contact you and alert you to special events, VIP tickets, and/or updates to the Champion Program that we think might be of interest to you. Some of the communications may include special offers (for instance, we may get limited tickets or discounts to an event we think may be of interest to you). While these special offers are specific to Champions, because these communications may be construed by some as a form of advertising, and we don’t want to run afoul of the law, you will have the option to not receive these communications. Should you unsubscribe to receiving these communications, we’ll respect that, but you may not know of access to certain opportunities.
If you opt out of receiving direct communications from us about opportunities and events, you will still receive administrative emails pertaining to your Champion status. You will receive these as long as you maintain your Champion status.
